Before Everly was born, her aunt Katie sent her a big red fluffy tutu made by the same company that makes tutus for the NYC ballet.  Katie was a ballerina practically her whole life and it was a very sweet and fitting gift for our girl.

Brent also has a background in dance. He took years of jazz and ballet as a young boy and I love to giggle over the photos of him in his dance costumes in family photo albums. I discovered once while we were in college that he still remembered many of the techniques and moves from his past and after a few drinks I convinced him to show me - as he spun gracefully across my living room wearing a flannel shirt and a beard all I could think was “I am going to marry that man one day!”

Last night we were watching The Nutcracker (both Brent and his sister Katie danced in local productions for years) and Everly kept watching intently then dancing around then stopping to watch some more. We grabbed her big fluffy tutu and she and daddy put on a routine of their own for me.

I have watched this nearly a dozen times since last night and can not stop laughing at these two silly people who belong to me. I look forward to years of impromptu living room performances.

Love,

M
