Christmas.

Do I get the award for latest Christmas recap ever? I think YES!

This one goes down as the Christmas that snuck up on us. The one where we pulled a tiny tree and the children’s stockings out of cardboard boxes the night before Santa came. The one where my dad and step mom brought coffee over on Christmas morning and had to bring coffee mugs too because we didn’t even know which box ours were in. The one where my mother in law bought all the little cousins matching PJ’s and we managed to get 4 babies under 2 years old to sit still long enough to snap a photo. The one where Everly’s smile on Christmas morning will forever be imprinted on me. The one where Arlo was just as enamored with the boxes and paper as he was with his toys (isn’t that always the case?!). The one where my best friend Natasha made chicken and waffles on Christmas day. The one where my miracle worker mama came to town for 4 glorious days and we nearly got our house unpacked and we ate her famous pot pie for two days straight. The one where I slept on a mattress on the floor next to my husband in our new bedroom and we snuggled in the quiet darkness and said “What a week!” “What a Christmas!” “What a blessed life!”

Joy and Light,

Melissa

Growing the Good April Charity: The Theodore Mulhollan Walk Team for March of Dimes.

Hello. I'm Melissa.

Wife to a rock n roll, super dad named Brent.

We're the adventuring type. Go. do. See.
We hit the jackpot when we had our daughter, Everly Veda in January 2010.
She has my eyes, his lips and a San Francisco heart.

In May 2011, we welcomed Arlo Redding, the most magical little dude ever into our family. His presence has made our good thing, even better.

We like old stuff and keeping it simple.
We believe in love, family and a good pair of cowboy boots.

Brent sings songs.
I write words.
And these sweet babies make our world go round.

Welcome.
