(A photo snapped by dada while we were in Asheville last weekend)
Well, she waited for me.
I squeezed in that last work trip of the season just in the knick of time. Everly put one little foot in front of the other last night and walked across her Papa and Grammy’s kitchen, the last day before she turned 10 months old.
Just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke, we kept standing her up and holding something she wanted a few feet in front of her - she’d shuffle those little feet, sway back and forth trying to find her balance, and off she’d go towards her prize. I don’t think I’ve squealed so loudly since the first time we got her to laugh.
These recent events have also put our baby proofing into high gear. We’re spending some time this weekend making sure that our house is really ready for a tee tiny walker. A page has turned in our story, a new chapter begins: Everly goes upright.
Here we go!
Love,
M
