2011 in Review. Another Year Lived in Love.
They say, the older you get, the faster the years fly by. In my experience, for every child you have, go ahead and double that rate of speed. I’m telling you now, just yesterday it was May and I was just delivering my baby boy. And two weeks ago, my daughter was just a wobbly walking, barely speaking little toddler-baby hybrid. Here’s a look back at my favorite moments from the past 12 months:

January: Our little dove turned ONE and we threw her a San Francisco themed birthday party.

February: My belly kept growing and Brent recorded a lovely song for our family

March: I celebrated turning 30 years old.

April: We redecorated the nursery into a sweet, gender neutral space for both babies.

May: We finally met our magic boy! Arlo Redding was born on May 17th after a fast & furious 4 hour labor.

June: We enjoyed the month with a fun trip to the beach and settling in as a family of four.

July: Celebrating the Dove’s summertime half birthday, and savoring a last trip to the farm with our beloved friends (and Arlo’s Godparents) Nick & Kate.

August: A mama lesson learned - being in the moment with my kids.

September: Celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary and our second “Jordan Family Holiday” tradition with our growing family.

October: The very best daddy turned 31 years old!

November: Arlo boy turned 6 months old, and we had our annual family pictures taken and marveled at how much we all had changed in a year’s time.

December: Packing up and moving on to a new adventure with a little house of our own & getting into the holiday spirit with a trip to meet Santa Claus.
This year has had its challenges too. I’ve learned to cherish my children’s health and to never take the gift that is being a parent for granted. I’ve learned that a support group of family and friends is crucial to getting through the tough stuff and that my husband has been and always will be my anchor. It’s been so humbling to watch as God has answered many of our prayers and carried our greatest burdens over the past 12 months. Overall, 2011 has been a year of big blessings and big lessons and I am so hopeful for what lies ahead for us in 2012.
Love,
M
