You know what is so much fun about raising a toddler? The number of hilarious things they do on any given day.  Here is an example of the latest Everly shenanigans:
1. Brent has taught her to say “I pooted” when she passes gas. I don’t know why he did this, as it isn’t the kind of thing we should be encouraging her to announce to anyone and everyone, but she does it all the time. “I pooted. I pooted.” It was REAL funny until I took her grocery shopping with me and she said to the cashier at the grocery store “Mama pooted”. I was so embarrased. And for the record, no I didn’t, Miss Everly- That was my shoe that made that noise. I swear it was!!!
2. Today she walked up to me, looked me dead in the eyes, said “Here.” while holding her hand out and deposited a big booger right into my hand. Then she turned around and walked away as if it was a totally common thing to do - like she had just deposited a check at the bank or something!
3. She now calls all men “boys”. When Arlo started crawling this week, she encouraged him by walking backwards in front of him and calling out “here boy, here boy”. When Brent made her laugh, she’d announce in her giggly voice “Silly boy, daddy! Silly boy!”
4. Somewhere along the way, Everly learned how to “toast”. Whenever the mood strikes, she will lift up her sippy cup, announce “CHEERS” and clink it against your glass.  This morning, she toasted me while I enjoyed my cup of coffee.
Anyone else have a wacky toddler on their hands? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
Love,
M

Hello. I'm Melissa.

Wife to a rock n roll, super dad named Brent.

We're the adventuring type. Go. do. See.
We hit the jackpot when we had our daughter, Everly Veda in January 2010.
She has my eyes, his lips and a San Francisco heart.

In May 2011, we welcomed Arlo Redding, the most magical little dude ever into our family. His presence has made our good thing, even better.

We like old stuff and keeping it simple.
We believe in love, family and a good pair of cowboy boots.

Brent sings songs.
I write words.
And these sweet babies make our world go round.

Welcome.
