A Lovely Giveaway: Minted.com - Closed

My house is an absolute a wreck, sometimes my children go two days in a row without bathing and we had freezer pizza and grapes for dinner last night. I’ve just come to accept the fact that I will never be one of those women who has it all together. Life is busy and most days, by the time I work all day, spend a few hours with my children, and get everyone fed and off to bed - it’s all I can do to get a blog post or two written, snuggle with my husband, and crawl into bed sometime around midnight.

Things like sending out birth announcements sometimes feel overwhelming to me in the same way that hosting a holiday dinner or keeping a spotless house with two small children does. But I wanted to do it anyway. Why? Because I’m insanely proud of this beautiful baby boy we made, and I know our family and friends enjoy having a sweet picture to put on the front of their fridge, and it’s just one of those things that I know I’ll look back on one day and be happy to have as a keepsake.

For Arlo’s announcements, we were invited to try out Minted.com. There are two things I truly love about this company:

1. Minted has a huge, beautiful selection and their website is very user friendly. I was able to narrow down exactly what I wanted in a matter of minutes. The site allows you to view all text, photo modifications, and changes in real time right on your computer screen, nearly everything on every announcement is customizable and their designers send you a digital proof before they go to print to ensure everything is perfect. (I like that second layer of confirmation because I am so the type to misspell something).

2. They support independent graphic designers by holding monthly design challenges. The winners then get their graphic creations added to the Minted.com array of invites, cards, and stationary where they can earn prize money and commission on their work.  (I LOVE that!) This company model supports “the little guys” and offers customers an ever growing array of choices for their paper good needs.

And when they arrived at our door, I loved them so much that I wasted no time getting them all addressed and in the mail. (Even though it meant staying up until 1am a few nights). I’ve seen them on display at several family member’s homes and it makes me puff up a bit with pride every time when I see his pretty blue eyes looking back at me from these beautifully printed cards.
