Keeping secrets and baby sniffing
Well, we’ve almost made it through this entire family visit with no one the wiser…. Except our moms.We decided they should know, no matter what. Grandma Debbie got tears in her eyes and abruptly took to watching after me and giving me lots of great knowledge that only a nurse/mother of 3 could know. Grandmother Mary cried her eyes out and has already sent me lovely words about how much motherhood changes your life in wonderful ways. I’m thinking their both going to enjoy this “grandma” thing immensely.
Brent told a random man in the hallway of a hotel and a taxi driver that we’re going to have a baby… so far, those are the only times he’s let it slipped. He is so excited that everyday he tells me of new ideas and hopes that he has for this child.
As for me, I’m reading everything I can get my hands on. I want to know everything about how the baby is growing, changing, getting bigger. I smile over small tidbits of info like the fact that a tee tiny heart is already beating inside me. I am daydreaming constantly and what it will feel like to hold this little love in my arms. As funny as this sounds, I can’t wait to smell our little one. Smelling babies has always been a favorite past time of mine and I imagine our baby is going to the best smelling baby of them all.
