4:45pm on a Wednesday
I love the light in our front room in late afternoon… the warm color it turns the wood floors and Everly’s hair. It makes us all happy so we put on a record to fit our mood. Mama dances with Arlo. And Everly dances with us both. and daddy plays along to the tune.

A Day in the Life... All Things Alishan
Oh my my! Today’s guest blogger, Alishan of All Thing Alishan is one of my favorite tumblr mamas. She’s wickedly funny, not afraid to tell it like it is, and I’ve loved watching how motherhood has made her super gushy over her son, Lucas. Speaking of Lucas, I’ll admit I had completely shelfish reasons for asking Alishan to guest post - I wanted more photos of her heavenly...

A Day in the Life... Sometimes Sweet
Danielle’s blog is called Sometimes Sweet, but as far as I can tell this little family is always sweet. Dani is so encouraging and positive, and her beautiful little boy Henry is full of smiles and squishy goodness. Her blog also has really wonderful features like Tattoo Tuesday and advice from mamas & papas all across the internet. Stop in and see for yourself! ...

A Long Overdue Petunia Pickle Bottom Winner!
I’m only two whole days late with announcing a winner for this beautiful bag. I’m sorry you guys… I know that’s incredibly annoying. Next time I should just put something like “This contest will end when Melissa gets her act together. Which could be Monday. or Wednesday. Or sometime before the end of June.” We finally got the internet figured out this...

A lovely thing to watch unfold
Everly has reached the age where she is beginning to create things all on her own. Movements, sounds, music, and art… She is taking all that she has experienced over the last 17 months and reinterpreting it through her point of view. Most recently, she and Brent sat on the front porch on one of the hot, muggy days that have made up the bulk of my maternity leave. Her small hands drew...

A Day in the Life... The Friendly Fox
True Story: Annie came to my rescue midway through my pregnancy when I was in a fashion rut. I managed to snag a box of her hand-me-down maternity clothes and they breathed new life into my my work and weekend attire.  (She can do the same for you - stop in her beautiful vintage shop and find something pretty!) Annie’s blog is such a gem and I have loved watching her baby boy, Jacob grow...

A Day in the Life... Jen Loves Kev
I feel really lucky to call Jen of Jen Loves Kev a friend. She is kind, thoughtful and incredibly creative. Motherhood has only amplified these attributes and the pages of her blog are full of her sweet adventures with her darling, chubby-cheeked daughter, Rowan. Jen is also a huge fashion inspiration for me - the girl’s got some serious style! _____________________ Hi Everyone! It’s...

A Day in the Life... The Heir to Blair
I love this girl for so many reasons (For starters - She’s an NC gal, just like me! Also, Harrison - DEAD FROM THE CUTE.) Her sass and wit have left me open mouth-no sound coming out laughing while reading her blog. Her candidness and honesty about her experiences in motherhood have moved me deeply. I could spend hours reading The Heir to Blair. ___________ Each morning, our little family...

A Day in the Life... Harper's Happenings
I’ve got a super awesome guest blogger lined up for you today! Mandy of Harper’s Happenings is pretty much the most hysterical, tell-it-like-it-is mama I know. I caution you not to read her blog while drinking soda lest it wind up sprayed all over the computer screen. She also has a great little online vintage shop full of goodies for babes and home. Bonus reason to read:...

Under a full moon. The Birth of Arlo Redding.
I laid in bed next to Brent, our feet finding each other under the sheets, and we watched Hulu in an attempt to coax ourselves to sleep.  We laid in the dark of our room, facing one another, the artificial glow of light from our computer screen reflecting off his face and mine. We were on our third episode of The Office, minutes after midnight when out of nowhere I was hit with a strong...

The Rundown: Everly Veda at 16 months
We’re a day away from Everly turning 17 months old and I haven’t posted her bi-monthly update. With all this fuss over her new little brother, I wanted to take a minute today to talk about my first born. Stats: Everly hasn’t put on any weight since she was a year old - the pediatrician assured us this is because she’s on the go so much and it’s true that all of...

A day in the life... Emphasis Added
Today’s Guest Blogger is pure sunshine! Emily of Emphasis Added is just this tiny ball of happiness and inspiration and her sweet blog never fails to put a smile on my face. I love her outlook on life, her energy, and the way she has embraced motherhood with so much grace. It also doesn’t hurt that her daughter Hazel, has the most delicious cheeks EVER. Enjoy a glimpse into their day! ...
