Final Countdown: 2 weeks to Arlo
Someone needs to tell this little guy that the exit out of my belly is not straight through my left side. He’s been trying to Chuck Norris kick his way out for several weeks now and it’s really starting to hurt! In true little boy fashion, Arlo is so strong and active.

Looking for advice from previous birth center...
When we packed our go-time bag in anticipation of Everly, I had a huge amount of stuff that went along with us to the hospital. (See post here) Delivering in a birth center is much different - we get to go home 6 to 10 hours after Arlo is born so I don’t need to bring days worth of clothes and other items. So far I’ve packed:
a few comfortable cotton dresses for me
a bathing suit...

Final Countdown: Three weeks to Arlo
Well, here we are. We’ve officially reached full term baby status. I’m really proud of my body for getting Arlo and I to this point safe and sound. It’s a pretty remarkable feat - growing a child - and I rarely give my body the appreciation or admiration that it truly deserves for such an accomplishment. Weathering the storm.
I wanted to take a moment and say thank you to those of you who have reached out and inquired about how our family fared after the tornados that ripped through our area last Saturday. I have been through several major hurricanes in North Carolina, but we haven’t had a tornado scare like that since I was a very small girl.

WatchDovie’s new thing is dancing. Dancing when we give her an animal cracker. Dancing when she hears music in a commercial. Dancing for no reason at all … but give the girl a song and she’ll do this for forever. We have no idea where she picked up that little side to side shimmy, but it cracks us up every time.
