A Lovely Giveaway: Minted.com - Closed
My house is an absolute a wreck, sometimes my children go two days in a row without bathing and we had freezer pizza and grapes for dinner last night. I’ve just come to accept the fact that I will never be one of those women who has it all together. Life is busy and most days, by the time I work all day, spend a few hours with my children, and get everyone fed and off to bed - it’s all...

He Sits!
Until gravity wins again. (Check out my blurry mama arm in action! No baby noggins hitting the floor on my watch!)

This Place.
(photos from our walk yesterday evening - the pretty house in the photos is one I always admire)
We’ve spent one and a half springs, two summers, two falls, and one winter in this little neighborhood on the edge of downtown Raleigh. We’ve walked the crooked sidewalks more times than I can keep count. When Everly was just learning to walk, we would let her toddle down the...

Everly’s vocabulary has officially gone into warp speed mode. She is picking up words and ideas so quickly that Brent and I can barely keep up. We’ve learned first hand that we can no longer have discussions about her, in front of her, as she is comprehending everything we say. I told Brent, “After lunch we need to get her down for a nap before we head out this afternoon”....

Work Clothes/Play Clothes
Happy Wednesday sweet readers!
How’s the week going so far? I’m tickled it’s already Wednesday and we’re halfway through - we’re headed to the mountains of NC this weekend to enjoy the fall foliage and spend time with family. I’m already dreaming of log cabins and the smell of wood smoke and drinking hot cider!
Play Clothes- out to dinner with Brent. Eh....
Notes from a Dragon Mom →
A hard and beautiful thing to read.
“Parenting, I’ve come to understand, is about loving my child today. Now. In fact, for any parent, anywhere, that’s all there is.“ ~Emily Rapp

catchafirefly asked: Just wondering, as NC residents what is your opinion on the gay marriage debate? What do you plan on telling E & A about it when they are old enough to understand?

Date Night: Two Children Later.
Date night for Brent and I used to involve two hours of me trying on different dresses, curling my hair, then putting it up, then taking it down again. It involved three rounds of drinks, and four different stops to meet up with friends. Most of the time it was hours past midnight by the time we made it home.
Last Friday my dad and stepmom called and asked if we’d like a night out while...
itsallinmyhead asked: hi! i'm curious how you feel about being a working mom & brent a sahd. my husband is self-employed & takes care of our baby part-time. i'm a working mom & earn a larger income. i'm so grateful to be employed, able to support my family, & not have to send my baby to day care, but honestly, it's killing me. i want nothing more than to stay at home and raise my...

The Rundown. 4 months & 20 Months
(Sorry my kids are in the same outfits for the past 4 posts - I took a lot of photos last Thursday!)
