Halfway there and Halfway across the country
I wish I could do celebratory highkicks, or perhaps a cartwheel - because this week marks the halfway point in my pregnancy. Alas, such grande gestures are not approved for women “in my condition” but I feel pretty darn accomplished, if I do say so myself.
This morning I board a plane for Orange Country, California for a work event and from there fly to NC for a few days in the office...
Call me old fashioned if you will...
but I just can’t seem to stomach all the plastic-y baby toys out on the market today. I find myself drawn to colored blocks, carved wooden ducks on wheels, brigh red tricycles, and soft, plush stuffed animals.
I am really battling myself over this feeling. I’ve never ever been one to instantly think newer=better, but in the baby world, there have been many advancement in safety and...

I wanted to write something this afternoon so that we would always remember the first time Brent finally felt Everly move in my belly. I’ve been trying all week to put his hand right where she was kicking and it wasn’t until late last night, as we were about to fall asleep that the palm of his hand and her little body finally met each other for the first time. but I was laying here, watching the evening news and winding down from a wonderful, lazy weekend when all of a sudden I felt a serious kick.

Just returned home from a dr's appointment
I haven’t gained any weight in a month. How is that possible?
I’ve been eating extra healthy - lots of fruits, veggies, and whole grains but I’ve definitely been getting my carb and sugar fix on a regular basis. This is the first time in my life I haven’t felt even the slightest bit guilty for finishing a pint of haagen-daz double chocolate in one sitting.

That based on where my placenta was attached that I probably wouldn’t feel any movements until probably around 20 weeks. Well, if there isn’t a baby making those weird fluttery movements in my belly then apparently I ate something with legs.
For the past two hours, I’ve been working on my computer in the bed and every 15 mins or so I can feel this little woosh movement....
